Sacrashe

2019 Sacrashe Vineyard

96+ Points — Robert Parker Wine Advocate

Sacrashe Vineyard is produced from its namesake vineyard, home to HALL’s first 100 point wine. This extra-ordinary vineyard is perched atop the Eastern ridge of the Vaca Mountain range in Rutherford. The extremely limiting volcanic tuff soils, high elevation, and unique aspect consistently yield intense earthy flavors and powerful yet supple tannin. Every vintage, we carefully craft our most awarded and sought-after wines from this distinctive site.

As our 2019 Sacrashe opens in the glass, intense aromas of ripe currant, black jammy fruit, graphite, and freshly turned earth prevail. On the palate, a characteristically dense structure plays against flavors of wet stone, dark chocolate, and concetrated red and black fruits. Powerful, yet silky tannins carry the flavors over a long and decadent finish.

“Enticing, with dark fig and boysenberry reduction flavors pumping through, laced with dark licorice and coated with a glossy toast treatment on the finish. Best from 2022 through 2036.”
